Animal Blend is a small oak wood chair in Amsterdam School style (1910-1930). The front of the chair is upholstered with a new fabric Lamba from Osborne & Little. An embroidered strip from Uzbekistan has been attached to the backrest of the chair. This strip is a good example of specialized and detailed embroidery. The innerside of the arm rests and the back of the chair have been covered with an Indian fabric with animals and flowers. The back of the chair shows the Hindustan elephant-headed god Ganesha. Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the god of intellect and wisdom.
