Chair Zarina is a Louis XVI style chair from the 19th century. In the period that Napoleon was emperor of France he was inspired by the classical past. He promised France glory and he provided this by referring to the golden age. Zarina has giltwood parts, which means that the wood has gold leaf and gold paint applied to it. The front of the chair is upholstered with a fabric from Lorca design Tupai, the side of the chair with design Egmont of Designers Guild. A handmade strip with bright flowers from Afghanistan is attached to the front of the cushion of the chair. The back shows a Suzani fabric with sun motive from Uzbekistan.
