A historical title of Persian origin (Mīrzā), denoting the rank of a royal prince, high nobleman
Mirza is a so called Louis XV Bergère style chair from the 20thcentury. The chair is made from beech wood and has cabriole legs. The front has been upholstered with a new fabric from Designers Guild in a light pink peachy colour. The back of the chair has been covered with a Suzanifrom Uzbekistan. Suzanis are embroidered pieces of cloth made in the region of Central Asia. They are an important part of a girl’s dowry and are also used for decorative purposes in Central Asian households. The suzani used on chair Mirza shows flowers. Most people believe that the flower motives are symbols of fertility and prosperity.
